Is a mid-wedding outfit change just for celebs?
With so many fabulous dresses and outfit options to choose from at MV Bridal, you can be forgiven for deliberating! If your pintrest boards are full of different ideas then why not consider changing up your outfit during the day? It needn't be anything too dramatic - just an additional train or removal of a shoulder cover-up for the after party, or if drama is your thing we can help with a statement look that's sure to be memorable - the choice is yours!

Some of our brides also choose to alter their outfit slightly to fit with cultural expectations or even venue choice - for example if you are having a very formal church service you may feel more comfortable in a dress with more coverage. Or, perhaps your service is a relaxed beach wedding, but your reception is being held in an upmarket hotel with champagne and canapes - a change of dress may better suit the overall aesthetics (and your comfort) on the big day. The reason for changing dress on the day can be very personal and varies from bride to bride - we suggest making sure you're changing your outfit to fit a purpose - be that to dance more energetically to your favourite band or to portray a more conservative look for your ceremony.

If you do decide to change your look on your day make sure everyone is on the same page - speak to your photographer or videographer and the wedding co-ordinator at the venue. This will be vital for when you have your photos taken, to make sure you get on film the right outfit in the right place!

Finding the right time to change will also be key to making this work, we recommend any of these -
For some people's weddings there is quite a noticeable change and feeling from ceremony to reception - this could be the ideal time.
It will depend on the timeline of your day - maybe after the speeches and wedding breakfast have finished and your entertainment, band or DJ have arrived could work for your day.
It may depend on whether your entire wedding is in one place - if the ceremony is in a church then on to a hotel, marquee or event space then the travelling between sites would be an ideal time.

Jewellery, shoes and headpieces can also be changed mid way through the day to really alter your look, so don't forget these! We have had plenty of brides wear high heel designer shoes for their ceremony and then change into flip flops or trainers for party time! Although we mainly think of what the Bride will wear on her wedding day, don't forget the groom - we aren't saying he has to change his entire suit - but a ‘nod’ to your change can work really well. For example a different corsage, pocket square, tie or boutonniere can make sure you two are connected.

And always remember - whatever the Bride says goes! So don't be afraid to go with the look, feel and outfit you want, it's your day!
